La Garba Conference

The group GARBA organizes the next act on November 30 at 8:30 p.m. at Espai Guinovart. On this occasion, we will have the presence of Albert Barqué-Duranque, based on some of his works, such as My Artificial Muse (premiered at Sónar + D), The Zero-Gravity Band (premiered at Sónar + D) and Ultimate Emoji (premiered at the Mobile World Congress), will present: «EXPERIENCES OF ART, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY. THE LIMITS OF PERCEPTION »

Albert Barqué-Duran holds a doctorate and postdoctoral degree in Cognitive Sciences from the University of London, has been Visiting Postgraduate Research, Harvard University and Oxford, and since September 2019 he has been a professor at the Polytechnic College of the UdL Degree in Digital Design and Creative Technologies.

In addition to his academic work he is also considered one of the 64 "Culture Activists" in Europe according to We Are Europei, has been awarded internationally for the "Re-Humanism Prize" and the "International Award City of Lleida".

He has exhibited and acted in Sónar + D (Barcelona, ​​Spain), Ars Electronica (Linz, Austria), ZKM (Karlsruhe, Germany), Creative Reactions (London, United Kingdom), Cricoteka (Krakow, Poland), Albumarte (Rome, Italy), SciArt Center (New York, USA), IGNITE Fest (Medellin, Colombia), Mobile World Congress (Barcelona, ​​Spain) or Ming Contemporary Art Museum (Shanghai, China).

His works and peformances combine the latest New Media artistic techniques (based on Artificial Intelligence, computational creativity, data and experimental music) with classic methods of fine arts (oil painting and sculpture) to reflect on universal themes

The purpose of his works is to intersect art, science and technology with the objectives of generating new scientific knowledge, reflecting on contemporary and futuristic themes and creating powerful experiences to analyze the limits of human perception.
